Is Transportation Provided?
Transportation from most all locations can be arranged but is NOT included. If staying at the Miami Hilton Hotel, they provide free shuttle service. This is common with several of the nicer hotels in Florida. We also provide transportation from other areas and many others can be arranged for an additional charge.
Can Women & Children participate?
Yes, very much welcome to participate. Also, know restroom facilities are usually close to most Peacock bass fishing areas.
We have no problem taking restroom breaks when needed. We enjoy working with women and/or children and instructing them on various fishing techniques, so all family members are encouraged to come and welcome.
Groups & Company Trips?
We can arrange for multiple boats/guides, on as many days as you’d like to fish. The majority of the Peacock bass are located close to Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and Naples attractions.
Big fish tournaments with a weigh-in can also be arranged for groups and are not uncommon.
Additionally, food, drinks, and catering can be provided. Just let us know what you are thinking of doing, and we’ll accommodate it.
Is the start time flexible?
We prefer to begin the majority of our trips at 7 am. But, will schedule trips to begin at other times upon request when available. Expect to be on the water for at least an hour longer than your scheduled trip. We do not count time only fish!
The captain will “always” confirm the day prior to what is the best time for the fishing if there’s a good morning bite they may suggest earlier or later. Otherwise, if you have an event the night before and you prefer to make it later like 8 am that can be arranged with your guide. If we’re meeting at the tackle shop, then transfer to the fishery you should try to meet earlier, again the captain will discuss all those details with you.
Are Fly Rod Included in the Trip?
What is considered included?
All tackle is provided, we use top-end rods and reels like Abu Garcia, Abu Garcia, and Penn. Only the finest lures the industry has to offer. Shiner rods floats, and hooks are also included. We have both bait casters and spinning reels for you to use. If you prefer left-hand retrieve over right-handed please request them when making your reservation, we want you to be equipped and comfortable. If you plan to fish artificial lures and you feel more comfortable with your own equipment, don’t hesitate to bring it. We also have customers that only bring their favorite reels, and we provide the rods. This makes flying easier, with no rods to be broken. Of course, your Captain is included, his boat and all fuel that is required.
What to bring?
Hat, Sunglasses (polarized if possible), Camera, Sunscreen, if you have special skin conditions be sure to cover up. Jacket, for the morning boat ride, in the winter it can be cool on the water.
Food is not included but is welcome and Alcohol (BEER) is allowed!

All rates are determined by the hours fished 4hrs, 6 hrs, or 8 hrs. Also by how many people going, a price for one, two people, a third, and a fourth person can be added. Does the Guide Fish?
No, while you are shiner fishing your guide will not fish less asked too. If you are artificial fishing your guide may fish with you if needed or asked. This mainly is to establish the pattern for that day or to boost your confidence that the fish are in the area and biting that color lure. Once those things are established, the guide should not be fishing unless asked. We do assure you though that your guide will not “front end” you or catch all the fish once a pattern is established.
This is your fishing adventure and we are full-time professionals here for your experience!
What size & style of boat do we use?
This is an important question, as Florida has lots of part-time guides with very old and cheap boats. The majority of our guides fish out of brand “New” bass or flats-style boats powered by 200hp to 300hp outboard motors. About 3/4 of the team have bass boats, many Rangers, Nitros, Legends, Vixon, Phonix, and Tritons. Others have falts or bay boats, very upscaled and used when 4 people groups are needed. They range from 20′ to 22′ and are built for comfort and have plenty of storage, these are the nicest boats you will get to fish out of anywhere in Florida for Peacock bass.
Don’t be surprised or taken by other services that use Caroline Skiffs, with no trolling motors, or Jon boats with trolling motors. Or even worst bank fishing, getting chased out of people’s backyards. Rest sure this is a first-class service with BY far the best equipment.
